1940's Vintage Peplum Pencil Suit

This two-piece vintage peplum pencil suit from the 40's has National Coat and Suit Industry on the Label.  A real throwback to the era, this women's day suit is both sexy and sophisticated. Made with black embroidered damask and silk velvet, both skirt and jacket are beautifully tailored.  Keeping to the classic style of its time, the jacket fits snuggly at the natural waist, and has a pointed collar, strong shoulder, and slight peplum over the hips. The jacket is trimmed in silk velvet along the front and pockets, and fastens with 6 velvet buttons (The top button is missing). The jacket is fully lined with a smooth synthetic blend. The pencil style skirt falls to mid calf and fastened up the left side with a 7" metal zipper, and is missing a button.
