1950's Black Layered Lace Dress

This amazingly detailed formal dress was made for a special occasion.  The dress is crafted of layers of black net, lace and taffeta.  The bodice is made from a boned under layer of taffeta and netting, over which is a short sleeve shell of black lace.  The skirt poufs from the natural waist and is made from an under layer of taffeta, a layer of very finely pleated netting and finally, a partial layer of net trimmed in lace - which creates a tiered effect. This fabulous dress fastens up the back with a concealed metal zipper, which is missing some teeth and may be replaced.  There are some small areas of wear along the shoulders and under the arms of the dress.
