1950's Black Velvet Sutash Vintage Party Dress

Designed in the 50's, this lovely vintage party dress is done in a black velvet with sutash embroidered net insertions and lace appliqué trim detail. The sleeveless bodice features a sweetheart cut sheer sutash embroidered net, which works it's way around the back, offering a shawl effect. Lace appliquéd leaf design trim, separate the sheer net from the velvet on the bodice and work its way around the armholes and also around the back. The A-line skirt falls from the natural waist, which we have paired with a petticoat (not included) and a wide patent leather belt (not included). The skirt repeats the pattern of the bodice with a sutash embroidered sheer net insertion, which is trimmed in lace appliquéd leaves. A concealed metal zipper encloses this dress on the side and two belt loops adorn the waist. Some of the velvet does show patina and one of the belt loops needs to be re-sewn .
