1950's Satin off the Shoulder Dress

This sweet, yet sophisticated dress is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn’s wardrobe designed by Givenchy for films such as, “Funny Face.”  Made from a pale blue silk-satin, this dress has a pieced short sleeve bodice, which is layered with an opulent, off the shoulder shawl. The center front of the bodice is adorned with a tiny bow.  The full skirt is pleated all around for an elegant sweep and the skirt is tea-length.  The dress is fully lined, and has a built in crinoline.  The crinoline needs to be reattached inside the skirt and there is some yellowing of the satin under the arm holes.  The dress fastens up the back with a concealed metal zipper.
