1950's Lavender Silk Taffeta Vintage Party Dress

Designed in the 50's, this incredible tea-length vintage party dress is made of a silk taffeta in a beautiful shade of lavender and includes a net lining in the skirt. The strapless bodice features a semi sweetheart neckline and a beautiful embellishment of sequins, pearls and rhinestones. The bodice has a form fitting layer and an additional ruched layer (crumb catcher), offering a double layered effect and a shelf style bust line. The skirt is gathered and falls from the natural waist, which is adorned with an unattached bouquet of sterling-deep purple roses. There is a lining of net under the skirt for added fullness. The dress fastens on the side with a concealed metal zipper. One of the rhinestones is missing and there are a few holes in the net lining. We recommend that the lining be replaced. Otherwise, this is a wonderful example of a party dress from the era and would be a fabulous garden wedding dress .
